SUN Volunteers Attends and Holds Booth at Indian Diwali Festival in Washington DC

SUN Charity USA Spokesperson; Washington DC; November 6, 2010: It was a pleasant surprise for the members of the Indian community when they witnessed the attendance of SUN Charity USA Volunteers’’ delegation led by its senior member Mr. Raj Rathore and holding a charity booth for the flood victims in Pakistan at the Indian Diwali Festival (a religious festival for Hindu community) at Patriot Center in Virginia the other day. The initiative was endorsed as an effort to tie social knots between the two arch rival countries India and Pakistan. SUN USA was greatly appreciated by hundreds of the participants at the festival and termed this drive beyond politics and differences and beyond conventional borders of the two countries. The participants at the event also generously donated at the charity booth and the funds collected will be used to buy sleeping bags and tents for the flood victims in Pakistan. The Indian community leaders and public at the festival liked the idea and said that the Indian community should also participate in the Pakistani community events and vice versa to promote the strengthening of the social ties between the two communities.
